Rubi 3/8" (10mm) Plus Scoring Wheel Gold*
Not all ceramic materials are the same. For this reason, not all RUBI scoring wheels are created equal.
RUBI manufactures its wheels and rollers in tungsten carbide, whose main characteristic is its high resistance to friction wear. Most of the ceramic materials that, historically, have been used for surface coating, have used enamels and smooth finishes, with minimal roughness. With the appearance of non-slip materials or rustic stoneware (especially suitable for outdoors), the roughness of the ceramic was increased. To minimize the impact of this roughness on the wheels, RUBI designs the GOLD category of scoring wheels and rollers.
Each roller is rectified in a unitary way so that each diameter has an incision angle according to its function and use. Each roller diameter offers different results and performances, depending on the type of ceramic material for which they have been designed.
The recommended use of RUBI GOLD scoring wheels is for scratching glazed stoneware (BIIa / BIb), rustic or extruded stoneware (AIIa / AIb) and porcelain stoneware (BIa) with smooth and / or slightly rough finishes.
The GOLD range of scoring wheels increases the resistance to natural wear of tungsten carbide, through a titanium coating. Thanks to this treatment, RUBI GOLD rollers offer a superior life than SILVER scoring wheels and rollers. This increase in life, under the same conditions of use as a SILVER wheel, this increase can be up to 50% more than the life of a SILVER wheel.
The RUBI GOLD scoring wheels use a handle with a triple grooved geometry (design and RUBI patent), which guarantees, at all times, a correct assembly in the manual cutter, as well as a firm fixation and firm scratching and without vibrations. Conforming the best combination to always obtain the best results.
