- Stone and Tile Tips
Travertine is a functional and stylish way to brighten and spice up any indoor space. Its creamy brown tones help to warm up any room, while its organic patterns bring refreshing new life to your décor. Available in a variety of sizes, texture and shapes, this stone can easily be used on both the floor and walls, as well as in accent pieces such as borders and mosaics.
Commonly used in bathrooms, kitchens and entry ways, our travertine is a customer favorite. Our Baja line is amongst the lightest in Calgary. Its soft shades help to brighten up areas low on natural light or to shed a contemporary look to an older home. Our Durango line is perfect for those trying to add movement to a room. Ranging from cream to mocha and riddled with beautiful, intriguing swirls and streaks of warm onyx, Durango is a unique piece of art. No two tiles are ever alike.
What is travertine? It is a form of limestone found near mineral and hot springs. Due to the air bubbles found in these areas, travertine is filled with small holes and craters, lending to its unique character. At Stone Source Intl, we offer a diverse selection from overseas quarries in Turkey and Peru with varying densities.
Once installed Travertine is very durable and with care can easily stand the test of time. We strongly recommend sealing it with our ‘Stain-Proof’ sealant to keep it stain resistant and clean for a guaranteed 15 years.
Feel free to visit our showroom to view our large selection of natural travertine!
